About Hot by Thirty

  • Desperate not to spend another summer hiding out in fat and/or maternity clothes, I'm determined to drop thirty pounds of baby weight by my thirtieth birthday- July 18, 2009. How unfortunate, then, that I prefer to spend nap time in front of my television with a vat of ice cream. But I've lost these same thirty pounds twice before and I can do it again. I shall do this by steering clear of white flour and sugar and moving my stumpy legs as fast as they will go on our new treadmill. In front of the television, of course. I think you're totally right on the usefulness of writing down what you eat. It generally just leads to more thoughtful eating. If you aren't paying attention it's really easy to stuff a bunch of crap down your throat and then assume that it wasn't REALLY that much, and so it's OK to eat more. Once you write it down and see how much you're ACTUALLY eating, then you have to be more organized and deliberate about what and when you eat.

Glad it helped!

Writing stuff down is big for me because I eat when I'm bored, and having to write it down helps me cut back on that. Plus I'm lazy, so I'll avoid snacking just so I don't have to write anything.

You are doing so amazing with this! I cannot stand running and I always feel like I am going to die. I think it is the boringness of running.

Well done Maggie! I think you deserve a sparkly guilt free ring now! Just kidding, awesome work!!

I think a treat is in order. Lululemon running pants? A super nifty Nike+iPod gadget type thing? Shoes?
