About Hot by Thirty

  • Desperate not to spend another summer hiding out in fat and/or maternity clothes, I'm determined to drop thirty pounds of baby weight by my thirtieth birthday- July 18, 2009. How unfortunate, then, that I prefer to spend nap time in front of my television with a vat of ice cream. But I've lost these same thirty pounds twice before and I can do it again. I shall do this by steering clear of white flour and sugar and moving my stumpy legs as fast as they will go on our new treadmill. In front of the television, of course. Oh my - I could have totally written the same post! Down 1/2 pound this week (still haven't lost all Christmas weight) and getting frustrated. Even though I'm not doing my best at exercise & eating.

Imagine that, lol. :)

Anyway, I blog with a group at Ladies of Loserville (http://ladiesofloserville.wordpress.com/)
& we're all trying to reach different goals. Mine = lose about 7 more pounds and then MAINTENANCE (which is a beast!).

Me too, half a pound down this morning! Woo! We'll see if that result sticks.

I was sucked in by the The 30DS Internet mystique! I'm pretty much loving it. I'm sticking with levels 1 and 2 for a while. It's harder than I have ever worked out before, but it's also just 20 minutes. Which is why I can get myself through it. I DO take her "5 second" pauses here and there OMG.

She talks about how this is better than "hours of phoning it in at the gym..." and that's definitely been my habit, workout-wise: phoning it in. I'm still motivated by the novelty of working so hard, I guess.

I bought 30DS this morning when I should have been getting ready for work. I am sooo excited. Thanks for the link. Blushing over here.

I too am loving the plethora of motivational stuff all over everyone's sites, here and elsewhere.

Just wanted to say that the 30DS is great! Yes, you feel like you're going to die, but it's over with really quickly and you will feel so strong afterwards and see differences really soon. Also, Jillian is not like most perky instructors, which I enjoy as I am a fan of the Tough Love. Hope you enjoy it!

I haven't done Thirty Day Shred yet, but I did locate it in the On Demand screen of my tv. It's free and I haven't even done it yet. Sigh.
However, I have walked 3 miles THREE TIMES IN A ROW, and for that alone I am giving myself mad props.
I've decided no chips of any kind can be allowed in my house. Chips (especially the chocolate kind) are a total downfall for me. But yes, sometimes they really are the only thing that makes one feel better. That or raw cookie dough.

The good thing about 30DS is that it is OVER IN 20 MINUTES! That's what I kept telling myself all the way through. I think that I am going to buy it because 20 minutes in my living room is way more doable than any of the other exercise options on the horizon at the moment. And no, I never made it past level 1. And Jillian is way nicer than on the show.

Now I just need some motivation!

Hmmm.... I am going to check out my on-demand for 30DS.... eek.
If I can find time to do it with my 3 month old who has decided he's too cool for sleep. Or not crying.
gah what a day. At least I don't have any chocolate chips in the house.... because I ate them all already.

I started the 30DS 10 days ago (on Alexa/Flotsam's advice) and so far I would recommend it. I'll look forward to your take.
