About Hot by Thirty

  • Desperate not to spend another summer hiding out in fat and/or maternity clothes, I'm determined to drop thirty pounds of baby weight by my thirtieth birthday- July 18, 2009. How unfortunate, then, that I prefer to spend nap time in front of my television with a vat of ice cream. But I've lost these same thirty pounds twice before and I can do it again. I shall do this by steering clear of white flour and sugar and moving my stumpy legs as fast as they will go on our new treadmill. In front of the television, of course. mmmmmm pub food. LOVE! I've had similar thoughts re is smaller even possible, but having witnessed my average sized sister shrink and shrink to slender/tiny by changing her diet, well I know it IS possible. And since her and I have the same genes, if she can do it I can. At least this is what I tell myself. I can't wait to here what you have to say about 30 day shred. Mine arrives this week and I cannot wait.

It's not about the numbers, you know this. It's not about rack sizes or scale readings or BMI, how you feel ranks highest. I know someone who is a miserable 4 but a happy 10. When you feel active, healthy and fine, it's time move into maintenance mode.

Pub food? I'm sooo jealous. I always feel less guilty if I get the burger sans bun, wrapped in lettuce. Oh, before I forget, I ordered 30 Day Shred from Netflix since I can't help but do what all the other kids are doing. Lame? Indeed.

Okay, so I found your blogs a while back and I love them, but I this is my first comment because I'm a total blog stalker. ANYWAY...I had to comment here because I can totally relate. 8 months in I am (finally!) back to my pre-pregnancy weight. It feels pretty good but I could definitely stand to lose more. Like 20 or 30 pounds more. Sometimes that seems like SO much, but then I realize that starting college I weighed 50 pounds less than I do now. 50! GAH! And I wonder if it's even possible for me to be that size again. I imagine it will be a long time before I can find out though since I highly suspect pregnancy #2 will happen long before I lose 50 pounds.

Maggie, Love both of your blogs. JSYK, the first two weeks of the Shred I gained a lot of weight. Think 10 lbs. Don't be discouraged, those muscles will pay big dividends for you. Meghan
