About Hot by Thirty

  • Desperate not to spend another summer hiding out in fat and/or maternity clothes, I'm determined to drop thirty pounds of baby weight by my thirtieth birthday- July 18, 2009. How unfortunate, then, that I prefer to spend nap time in front of my television with a vat of ice cream. But I've lost these same thirty pounds twice before and I can do it again. I shall do this by steering clear of white flour and sugar and moving my stumpy legs as fast as they will go on our new treadmill. In front of the television, of course. I couldn't be happier for you, Maggie.

You are a rockstar.

And have just inspired me to rediscover that feeling. (The "I actually WANT to run!...?!" one.)

a) 1.34 miles (or kilometers, though doubtful, see: badass status)
b) Yay you! Badass, indeed. Is it sad that I just kinda clapped for you inadvertently?
c) I am proud of (mostly) keeping the sanity.

Ok so I have racked my head for days and I have no physical progress type things that I stuck to in 2008. I did start getting into a gym phase in mid November and it's still on the go but in that fragile 'will it or won't it stick' phase. I plan to keep going. I am happy I discovered blogs and proud of starting my own and keeping it going for six months.

Congrats on your thus far success and new found hobby in treadmilling. Very cool.

I'm running too! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. It totally is the only place where I'm my own person again! And I love to run more than I ever have before for that reason.

I've got WAY TOO MUCH WEIGHT ON ME to be running though (its PUNISHING my joints) so I'm starting my Emergency-Must-Get-Thin-To-Run-Faster-and-with-Less-Pain CRASH diet (those things everyone tells you NOT to do) in just a few days. I am waiting for my supplies to arrive.

Don't worry, I have more than enough physician supervision.

In a perfect world, I'd blog along with you but maybe I'll just check in here? I have publishing deadlines that in former days would have been a breeze but are killing me now and blogging just don't fit.

I'm proud of hating exercising a bit less than I did before. I dream of the day when I actually LIKE it. Maybe someday...
