About Hot by Thirty

  • Desperate not to spend another summer hiding out in fat and/or maternity clothes, I'm determined to drop thirty pounds of baby weight by my thirtieth birthday- July 18, 2009. How unfortunate, then, that I prefer to spend nap time in front of my television with a vat of ice cream. But I've lost these same thirty pounds twice before and I can do it again. I shall do this by steering clear of white flour and sugar and moving my stumpy legs as fast as they will go on our new treadmill. In front of the television, of course. Well, I haven't started yet, being that my baby is still inside, but I will, I swear!

Some of that fondue sounds pretty good though. And I had two ice cream cookie sandwiches for breakfast. My excuse is still good for another week or two though.


i'm riding the postpartum high. My 2 week appointment said I lost 25 pounds from the day I was admitted to the hospital before Van was born.
So I'm kinda milking that right now, but I know I need to be better.....

I have been eating lots of veggies..... And my husband did me a "favor" by buying crap Halloween candy that I'd rather stick up my nose than eat. So there's that.


MAGGIE! I just have to say (even though I may have sabotaged myself tonight at a birthday dinner filled with pasta and cheese and copious amounts of chocolate cake) that in this past week I have lost both the TWO in front of my age and the TWO in front of my weight! Woot woot! Yes, my friend, this means that I have met the first stage of my hot by thirty goal. Now we move on to Hot AT Thirty...phase two will entail losing the next 7 pounds, which will mean that I will have lost all of my baby weight. You and your mantra have encouraged and propelled me forward. Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate having this community that you have formed to keep me going. :-) Hope you had a good week this week!


Maggie, I am totally still plodding along. The weight loss is stagnant at like 2 lbs, but I have been doing VERY moderate exercise like the 'ol run one minute, walk one minute routine plus teaching hockey. I had forgotten how great it feels to just be active, so I am not overly concernted about the weight loss stagnation (yet). I feel weight loss is just around the corner as I successfully turned down both McD's and Chinese food today. Wahoo!
