About The Blathering
The Blathering was born in 2009, when a group of friends wanted a blogging conference without the sessions and networking. We simply think every blogger needs a little face-to-face time with her best blogging friends in a no pressure environment.
Each year the Blathering picks a new and fun location and organizes a casual itinerary that mainly revolves around a lot of great conversation and good food. Most importantly, everyone is welcome to the Blathering -- seasoned blogger or internet newcomer. If you think that doesn’t mean you, it does. Join us!
2013 Organizers
Elizabeth Jackson @ebj123 * Princess Nebraska
As the Vice President of Decor, Moderator of the Pinterest Board, and Director of All Things Sparkly, Elizabeth wants to give you a beautiful Blathering. When she's not pinning or painting, she's wrangling Eli (5) and Katie (1) and attempting to cure her husband of his couch-sitting disorder. She blogs it all at Princess Nebraska, where she also tells you what books to read, what veggies to eat, and lets you decide what color to paint her closet floor.
Emily Cassee @notthatyouasked * Not That You Asked
In her former life, Emily was a writer and editor who occupied a cubicle and submitted to the daily grind. These days, she's mostly a stay-at-home mom to Asher, 5, and Lucy, 3, though she does enjoy a little freelance work on the side, blogging for clients like iVillage and Huggies, as well as for her own personal website at emilycassee.com. She lives in the metro DC area with Dave, her husband of eight years, and particularly enjoys national parks, sno cones, and her newly remodeled kitchen.
Jennie Canzoneri @shelikespurple * She Likes Purple
Jennie likes her champagne poured generously and her mornings to start in the afternoon. They often don’t, which explains the Diet Coke addiction. She lives in Texas (and only hates the weather about half the time) with her husband Mike, her son Kyle, and her dog Molly, who is needier than the other two combined. She blogs at She Likes Purple and tweets at @shelikespurple.
Kristie Ashe-Kenny @kristie999 * My Grand Illusions
Kristie Ashe-Kenny is a senior tax preparer by day and accessory junkie by night. She lives with her two sons in a northern suburb of Fort Worth and when she's not at home, she's usually traveling the globe with her brand new English husband. She first attended the Blathering in Sacramento (in 2009), and while her blog has gotten a little dusty since then, her relationship with the first year's attendees hasn't. You can find her irregularly blogging at My Grand Illusions, so best to follow her on Twitter for more consistent (but hilarious) nonsense.
Maggie Cheung @mightymaggie * Mighty Maggie
Maggie has been bringing the mighty since 2004, when she began blogging at mightymaggie.com. She is married to the Devastatingly Handsome Chinese Man and mother to three devastatingly loud children. She dislikes birds, sarcasm, and that crappy font you once suggested she use. Based on her previous life choices, one can assume her likes include endless days of rain upon more endless days of rain, the stylings of certain influential Asian DJs, and comparing the size of her minivan to the size of your minivan.
